MG has officially unveiled its Cyberster concept car, which will debut at the Shanghai Auto Show this month.

The two-door, two-seater sports car has been developed by the MG Advanced Design Centre in London and draws inspiration from the classic MGB Roadster, while incorporating new high-tech features such as an interactive gaming cockpit and 5G connectivity. Its all-electric architecture enables a range of 800km (500 miles) and 0-100km/h time of less than three seconds. The car is expected to use the same 64kWh battery pack as the current MG 4 hatchback, and it may share motors with an upcoming performance version of the MG 4.

The Cyberster’s aerodynamic body features classic round MG headlights, a slim grille design, and a “laser belt” LED strip down the side of the car. The interior adopts a driver-centric layout with a large-sized LED instrument cluster and a second central screen.

MG has confirmed that the Cyberster will go on sale in the UK in the summer of 2023, with a starting price likely to be around £40,000.
